Perceptions: Rorschach is an ongoing project. The Rorschach Test is a standardized psychological test involving inkblots for subjects to perceive, which are later analyzed by the practitioner. They are created by putting ink on one side of a folded-in-half piece of paper, which is then pressed together to create a mirror image. It explores pareidolia, the tendency to incorrectly perceive an object from a stimulus. I have particularly found beauty in the texture and blending of colors created through this process. After allowing ample drying time, I outline, watercolor, and assemble each ‘ink blot’ into booklets.
The impending question is ‘what do you see?’
